What are you living for?
In Philippians 1:21, Paul lets us know his posture and personal belief on life and death. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Put it another way…Christ is everything to me! Living in the body means continuous labor, but fruitful labor for Christ. To die in Christ means the final change in the redemption plan to transport me into His presence…alive forever! The challenge comes between the oppositions faced in the “strait” between this life and death. Putting it in perspective… a life lived to die is braced on the progressive union stated in 2 Corinthians 5:6-7. “Knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord…we are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”!
Perhaps for many that have lost love ones during the Covid-19 virus pandemic, there may be some comfort in the Apostle’s unselfish summation, that Christ is to be the principle of a Life lived to die.
