Is God still talking?

01/19/2022 · In: The Shepherd's Cup, Uncategorized

“If my people, which are called by my name,  (when) shall humble themselves, and pray,  and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

If, …when,… then…the SHIFT!

With all of the voices we have tuned into since the corona virus pandemic (December 2019-), is God still talking to us? Is his voice being drowned out below the noisy chatter of the crowd?  Can you hear?  What did He say?

A couple of days ago, I received 2 calls in less than six hours apart from two ministry partners of deaths of their loved ones. The last one had passed just five minutes before Midnight. I thought how close was that before the cross over to the next day…a new day! My spirit became heavy as I prayed for those families and remembering others who had shared this same moment in time.

As I went on my knees, I wanted to hear if the Lord was considering all that was going on… how he was feeling about it…

I could feel his heaviness, his burden, his tears…

I heard in my spirit a broken and contrite spirit saying…”they won’t hear me.” It wasn’t ” they don’t hear” me BUT “they won’t hear me.” Is there a Word in the Bible for that?

Hebrews 1:1-4

GOD, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged (cleansed) our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Note:

Who is talking Now? The Son

Why is He talking? He is BETTER

What did He say…?

The Son is a better spokesman; The Son has been appointed to speak; The Son is the fullness of the Father’s glory; The Son is the completeness of revelation; The Son has a better Name; The Son gave a better sacrifice; The Son provides better promises and a heavenly rest!

The Son’s WORD serves as the agency of His power; The Son’s WORD upholds, sustains, bears up, governs and directs ALL things!

From Genesis to Revelation, through Creation and the angels, through prophets and patriarchs,  it is obvious that God has not stopped talking!  So, what’s the problem??!!

2 Timothy 4:3-4

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth…

We can discern the time by the distinct temperature of the desires vs the destiny within the church.

 (a) no desire for sound (bible based) teachings (b) ears become attracted to that which is tickling (not serious) (c) accept teachers that compromise and approve of their sinful lifestyle, rather than give them Truth

Let’s consider another problem… maybe you are not a sheep!

John 10:27 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them,  and they know Me.

or do you have a spiritual hearing problem?

2Chronicles 7:14 sums it up perfectly!

If (possibility) my people (God’s people claiming and acknowledging their first calling…out of SIN, would humbly surrender, PRAY.

Pray how…?  Pray in agreement, in confession, in adoration, in fellowship, intercession, petition, contrition, lament, supplication, in praise, in tongues, prophetic, in Thanksgiving, in the scriptures, imprecatory…to invoke judgment on God’s enemies and in warfare…to confront a bodiless  enemy!

If… When... YOU TURN…this is the SHIFT!

THEN I will hear from heaven.  What has been heard,  agreed and declared on earth is heard, agreed and declared in the heavens!..to forgive their sin and heal their land!

People of God better start hearing The Son who is yet speaking!

That’s when you will see the SHIFT!
